What’s on?

There’s much more to FyneFest than beer, food and music – this year sees us continue our mission to offer a full range of entertainment for a full weekend of fun.

The Walkers Bar

Saturday 12pm-4pm

Make the most of the beautiful festival site and surroundings with a leisurely walk up the glen to visit our pop-up bar for a well-earned beer and burger fresh from the BBQ. The Walkers Bar continues to be one of FyneFest’s most popular attractions – get on your feet, get some fresh air and clear your head for the evening with the one hour walk to the old riverside bothy bar. Remember, if taking your canine friend up the glen with you, they must be kept on leads at all times to avoid disturbing the farm animals.

FyneFest Pub Quiz

Saturday 2pm

Flex your mental muscles with the biggest pub quiz in Scotland (maybe?), taking place on Saturday afternoon in the Brewery Tap Courtyard. Get a pint, get a team of four, get your thinking cap and join in with a chaotic afternoon of trivia. The winners will be crowned the champions and rewarded with a stack of tokens to use in celebration of their victory.

Signing up early in the weekend is highly advised – every year the quiz hits capacity and it’ll be your own fault if there’s nae tables left.

Meet The Brewers – Scotland’s New Breweries

4pm, Saturday – Fyne Ales Brewery

Ever wanted to start your own brewery? Keen to hear about how you could do so? Join Fyne Ales’ Jamie Delap as he hosts a Meet the Brewers discussion panel featuring four of Scotland’s most exciting new breweries. Representatives from Cross Borders, Up Front, Out of Town and Campervan breweries will chat about their approach to setting up their breweries, making great beer and getting established in the craft beer market.?

This event is ticketed, with a small cost to cover the beers that will be poured for tasting during the panel! Visit the ticket page to book.

Meet The Brewers – Brewing Great IPAs

5pm, Saturday – Fyne Ales Brewery

We’ve invited some of the UK’s best IPA brewers to FyneFest 2017 to join in a Meet The Brewer panel discussion about brewing, and what it takes to brew great examples of the quintessential craft beer style. Join brewers from Verdant, Brewdog, Magic Rock and DEYA for an in-depth chat moderated by Fyne Ales’ Jamie Delap about brewing, beer and being part of the incredibly fast-moving British scene.

How do classic British-style IPAs stack up against the enduringly popular, resinous West Coast IPAs? Will the rise and fall of black IPAs be repeated with the currently popular Vermont-style IPAs? How juicy is too juicy? Find out what the experts think at FyneFest 2017.

This event is ticketed, with a small cost to cover the beers that will be poured for tasting during the panel! Visit the ticket page to book.

Campervan On-Site Brew

Midday, Saturday – Main Arena

Join Edinburgh’s Campervan Brewing to help out with a unique, on-site festival brew chosen by you! The Campervan team will use their pilot kit to brew up a small-batch beer in the VW camper on the field, and talk through the process as they do so, so be sure to visit them and learn more about brewing!

For the Wee’uns

All weekend

FyneFest is a family-friendly weekend of fun, so we’ll be running a kids entertainment program all weekend to keep everyone amused. Join in the fun and catch the Latin rhythm fever with a salsa dance class on Saturday afternoon in the main marquee. Perfect to get you ready for the afternoon’s music from Samba Ya Bamba and Son Al Son, you’ll be guided through some basic, hip-wiggling steps by instructors from Academia de Salsa.

Stories While U Wait

All weekend

Petit Prance is the nom de plume of nomadic English writer, Luke Winter, who has spent the last handful of years traveling around the world with a typewriter and a sign offering ‘Stories While U Wait’. In exchange for a small donation towards his travels, Luke will happily write a completely unique short story on a subject of your choosing. Catch him in the main arena all weekend, flash him a smile and see what he can write for you.

Various Times

The team behind Yogability, a charity dedicated to providing free yoga classes to those with special needs and their carers, will be on site all weekend, offering yoga sessions to anyone and everyone in exchange for a small donation to help support their work.

Pirate Knock-Out

Saturday 12pm
A band (well, two) pirates have sailed up the glen to the FyneFest arena to lead festival-goers in sea shanties, fun-filled pirate games and general plundering (maybe?).

Brewery Tap Shop

All weekend

It’s Sunday, you’ve got tokens left, we’ve got beer in bottles for you to take home and drink away the sorrows of the best weekend of the year being over. Bring a growler and we’ll happily fill it with any of the beers pouring in any of the bars to help you spend any you haven’t lost.

Under-18s Jam Session

1pm, Saturday, Brewers Bar

A chance for the talent young festival-goers to show off their musical skills at FyneFest 2017! Join members of some of Saturday’s main stage bands for a freeform musical exploration, or come along and see the next generation of FyneFest performers in action on Saturday lunchtime!

All weekend

Aye, not the most glamorous thing on the list, but useful to know about anyway. There’s a handful of showers on the main field which operate on a token basis (different tokens to beer tokens). Tokens can be purchased on the Brewery Tap Room, so if you’re the kind of person who likes a 20 minute soak to shake off a hangover, get along to get a handful of the magic, little gold coins.

Festival Shop

All weekend

New for 2017, a dedicated on-site shop selling a range of festival and band merchandise, in addition to camping essentials. The Festival Shop is the place to go to grab a souvenir of your weekend or grab the things you’ve forgotten!
